Remembrance and reflection. NBV’s memorial benches are built with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified teak. The wood is sourced from teak plantations in Indonesia. Teak wood is rich in oils that repel insects and molds, and that protect against natural climate distresses. For these reasons, teak is favored by woodworkers to build objects for outdoor use. An NBV memorial bench at a burial site will last decades without maintenance. It will last decades longer if it is maintained.
